I like the idea that somewhere out there, unbeknownst to all the angels and all the demons and even Dean himself, Ben Braeden is biologically the last in a long line of amazing, brave people, without an inkling of what he is capable of.

Since As Time Goes By should have technically happened in 2015, we have decided the entire thing was too cool not to have in our ‘verse and have added it to our canon. (Sam and Dean vanish in 2016, so it takes place before The Capacity To Love.) The setting changed—Sam and Dean are at Bobby’s in 2015, and Sam’s wall is broken—but the ending remained largely the same: Henry died, Abaddon was defeated, and the Winchesters have the key, though they never got the coordinates to the place it unlocks.

Upon learning about the Men of Letters being the other half of the “family business,” Sam decided that just because he wasn’t capable of hunting didn’t mean he couldn’t be helpful. Since he had so much spare time on his hands and needed something to distract him from the hallucinations, he started digitizing Bobby’s library, writing down everything he knew…in the form of an actual hunting wiki. (He wasn’t as picky as his ancestors about who learned how to protect themselves from the supernatural.)

The wiki took off fast, and Sam was still working on it when he and Dean disappeared in 2016.
